Week 17 at the Pole

It’s still not completely dark, but we know that eventually, and soon enough, the darkness will come to envelope everything. Last week at the Pole was a relatively quiet one. The detector was well behaved, and the winterovers performed some of their routine measurements without any trouble. Outside, it was clear but quite windy, making it hard to watch for auroras. But the weekend held back-to-back celebrations: Star Wars Day (lightsaber chopsticks?) and Cinco de Mayo, which was a rest day for the regular kitchen crew so some of the winterovers put together huge plates of nachos for everyone.
