Week 43 at the Pole

Shoveling snow might not be that much fun, but at least at the South Pole, afterward you can walk away with a pretty “epic” beard, as the winterovers recently put it. Well, if you have a beard to begin with, that is. Last week IceCube winterovers James and Martin were out clearing snow from the ICL’s decks and stairwells. That’s IceCube winterover James (and his beard) above, and below we see him in action. It doesn’t snow much at the South Pole, but snow does blow in from storms and accumulate. And then sooner or later it needs to be removed. They were smart to take before and after shots to show off their impressive achievement!
