Clear weather allowed most of the scheduled flights to make it to the Pole last week, with a stream of new arrivals from each plane. Inside the galley, what a difference a couple of weeks make. The new summer crowd and the few remaining winterover staff do a good job of filling up the space, seen below in stark contrast to a short while ago. Outgoing IceCube winterovers Stephan and Erik spent the week introducing newcomer Christian to his new home and duties. Together they took inclinometer measurements, ran a 24-hour test on a new software candidate, and performed an IceTop calibration run.
