After the South Pole station closes for the winter, the remaining winter crew has a few short weeks to take care of any outdoor business before the sun sets and leaves them in darkness for months.  Last week, both of IceCube’s winterovers were among the volunteers who cleared flags from the skiway, which won’t be in use for the winter season.  For this task, they drove around in an LMC, seen above and below. The last image shows the IceCube Lab as it looks currently, with its snow ramp gone, in preparation for winter.
